Project 1:
Ostrich Project

Projects

  • This project will focus on creating a marketing campaign/package for Ostrich Beach Chairs to use in the off-season. The package will include various marketing strategies, such as three giveaway Instagram posts, three targeted social posts, one blog post, one email ad, and three feature posts. Members will gain hands-on experience with Canva, learning not just how to navigate the platform but also how to create compelling content. They'll explore the importance of brand consistency and develop the skills needed to present a cohesive visual identity. Additionally, members will develop collaborative skills by exploring diverse ideas, concepts, and strategic approaches.

  • This project challenges members to think beyond the beach season and craft innovative strategies to keep a brand relevant year-round. Working in teams, students will blend creativity with analytical thinking to design an engaging digital campaign, tailor content for multiple platforms, and pitch their ideas with confidence. From brainstorming to final presentation, members will experience the fast-paced, problem-solving environment of professional marketing—learning to adapt, collaborate, and make data-driven decisions along the way.

  • This project will:

    1. Equip members with hands-on experience in multi-channel digital marketing strategy.

    2. Strengthen skills in campaign planning, audience targeting, and visual storytelling.

    3. Develop adaptability and creative problem-solving through real client challenges.

    4. Foster leadership, communication, and collaboration within a team setting.

    5. Provide a tangible portfolio piece that demonstrates professional marketing capabilities.

Project 2:
TikTok Project

  • This project will focus on creating TikTok content and editing skills to promote PSAMA on TikTok. From week to week, members will create new videos to be posted 2-3x a week. The long-term goal of this project is for members to have stronger skills in editing, content creation, and collaborative skills.

  • This project puts members in the role of digital storytellers, challenging them to create short-form content that’s both engaging and on-brand. From concept to final cut, members will experiment with trends, transitions, and editing techniques to capture audience attention in seconds. Working as a creative team, they’ll learn how to adapt ideas for a fast-moving platform, collaborate on filming and editing, and measure what content resonates most. It’s a hands-on, trend-driven experience that builds confidence in both creativity and execution.

  • This project will:

    1. Strengthen members’ skills in short-form video editing and creative storytelling.

    2. Teach how to identify and leverage TikTok trends to reach a target audience.

    3. Foster collaboration through joint filming, brainstorming, and feedback sessions.

    4. Improve adaptability by creating content on a quick turnaround schedule.

    5. Provide real-world social media experience that can be applied to future professional roles.

Project 3:
CrossFit Project (with Sports Division)

  • This project is a collaborative project between the PSAMA Sports Division and DM&A Division that aims to elevate the identity and visibility of Penn State’s underrepresented CrossFit Club. The team will research the club’s culture and values, create a marketing campaign, and develop a refreshed visual identity, including logos, slogans, social media assets, and merch concepts, to help promote member engagement and a more consistent identity on campus!

  • This project challenges members to blend creative branding with strategic marketing to shine a spotlight on an underrepresented campus club. Working across divisions, members will dive into the CrossFit Club’s culture, interview stakeholders, and translate insights into a powerful visual and messaging strategy. From designing logos and merch concepts to planning social media campaigns, students will gain hands-on experience in brand building, creative collaboration, and client-focused problem-solving. It’s a dynamic, multi-disciplinary project that bridges research, design, and marketing execution.

  • This project will:

    1. Equip members with real-world experience in brand development and visual identity design.

    2. Strengthen skills in market research, audience targeting, and storytelling.

    3. Foster collaboration between creative and strategic teams.

    4. Provide a tangible, professional-quality campaign deliverable for a campus organization.

    5. Demonstrate how cohesive branding can boost visibility and engagement for a niche community.
